The temple is near Sarada theatre near Corporation Building. To get their I bought a day pass for Rs 30 on the bus and took a busroute leading to K.R. Market. I hopped off at corporation stop and took a Rs 20 auto to the temple (because I didn’t know the way). On the way back I just walked back to the corporation. This temple is important because of the Karaga festival.

There is a much grander version of this in Chitradurga fort, from which people were supposed to swing and light the lamp atop a pillar.

I almost missed seeing the wonderful temples around the Dharmaraya temple (hard to wear and remove shoes so many time.. silly of me..). There is a Hanuman temple, a Rama temple, a Siva temple, A Sakthi temple and a Naga Devatas temple. The Sakthi temple has an old lady as a priest. She did not look like a brahman. This made me very curious. I found out later that some women priests are called ganacharis. She said photos were not allowed so I didn’t take any there. I wonder if I will ever learn everything about India! But I was allowed to take pictures in the Naga Devatas temple. I am told that Subrahmanyeswara the lord of the Naga Devataas and the Son of Siva, blesses devotees with sons. An important temple is in Mopidevi. My cousin was so born and is called Subrahmanyam.
